The David B. Silipigno Foundation will accept proposals from organizations with 501 (c) 3 status. Grants are available for the expansion of direct service programs, the initiation of innovative programs and limited event sponsorship. Larger grants are available for capital projects. Additional funding consideration will be given to events/activities that contribute to the enhancement of quality of life for Saratoga County residents. Priority is given to organizations serving children and families residing in Saratoga County. In making funding decisions, the David B. Silipigno Foundation is guided by three core values:
Opportunity: Due to a variety of reasons including abuse, poverty and neglect, many children are denied the opportunity to succeed. The David B. Silipigno Foundation funds programs that provide athletic, educational and community enrichment opportunities that offer youth the tools they need to assist them in achieving all that they are capable of. Therefore, organizations or programs that creatively address a locally defined community need or that directly impact children will be a priority.
Growth: Building Saratoga County (and the greater capital region) community into a place with better access to available resources for children is a primary value of the David B. Silipigno Foundation. Therefore, funding the launch of new programs and facilities, or the expansion or renovation of new programs, will be given careful consideration.
Esteem Building: It is the belief of the David B. Silipigno Foundation that every child deserves to feel valued, and therefore looks to fund programs promoting self esteem through activities that are both educational and “fun.” How children feel about themselves is paramount to their healthy development. The David B. Silipigno Foundation seeks to fund programs that work to ensure that all children have safe and caring environments where they can thrive. |
