Renovation of “Pan” and “Maenads” Italian Garden Statues in Congress Park
The City of Saratoga Springs, Department of Public Works, is proud to unveil the restoration of two of these Italian Garden Statues in 2007; Pan and Maenad.
This has been made possible with the support of the David B. Silipigno Foundation. History tells us that Pan is known to be the son of Hermes. He is the god of goatherds and shepherds. Maenads are known as the female companions of Dionysus, usually represented as frenzied revelers. Stay tuned for more information on when these statues will be revealed to the public in a major unveiling in Congress Park.
